Russia Plans More Than Ten BRICS Business Missions Including Fertilizer Producers

Russia plans to organise more than ten business missions to newer BRICS member states before the end of 2026.

The planned destinations include Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Indonesia. Participating companies are expected to represent fertilizer production, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, timber processing, power engineering, sustainable technologies and information and communications technology.

The initiative is intended to expand commercial links with markets that have become increasingly important for Russian exporters.

Fertilizers are part of the export programme

The Ministry of Industry and Trade identified fertilizer producers among the sectors expected to participate.

The missions are intended to support:

- direct buyer contacts
- localisation discussions
- new distribution channels
- market diversification
- long-term industrial cooperation
- development of alternative logistics routes

In Egypt, the focus includes localisation of Russian agricultural products, fertilizers and timber products. Ethiopia is identified as a market for communications, pharmaceuticals and energy technologies, while Iran is associated with pharmaceutical and power-equipment supply.

The UAE remains a key logistics hub

The UAE is described as both a substantial market and a logistics hub for access to Africa and South Asia.

Trade between Russia and the UAE reached a record USD 14 billion in 2025, while Russian food exports exceeded USD 400 million.

The wider trade turnover of BRICS countries exceeded USD 1 trillion in 2025, supported by the addition of new members, preferential business conditions and the development of the North-South transport corridor through Iran to India.

Commercial opportunity still depends on product specification, documentation, destination and executable logistics.
