Soil-Matched Application

Target fields with K > 150 mg/kg exchangeable K. Apply 200–280 kg/ha at planting on maize and cotton. Monitor K levels every second season — continuous low-K fertilization eventually depletes soil reserves even on initially rich soils.

When should I avoid 20-10-5?

On sandy soils with low CEC, potato and fruit crops, and any field testing below 100 mg/kg K — these need full K supply from MOP or K-enriched NPK.

Can 20-10-5 be blended with MOP at the farm?

Yes. Bulk blend 20-10-5 with MOP to create a custom ratio matching soil test recommendations. Blend immediately before application to prevent segregation during storage.

Is 20-10-5 cheaper per hectare than 20-10-10?

Lower total nutrients (35% vs 40%) and less K input reduce product cost per tonne. On K-adequate soils, total cost per hectare is 10–15% lower than equivalent 20-10-10 programmes.
