Full product details
Product overview
Aqueous ammonia — ammonium hydroxide in solution — delivers immediately available ammoniacal nitrogen without the pressurized storage infrastructure required for anhydrous NH₃. At 25% NH₃ concentration the product carries roughly 20.5% N by weight, making it a cost-effective liquid nitrogen source for drip fertigation on high-value horticulture, greenhouse row crops, and turf management programmes across the Gulf, North Africa, and South Asia.
Beyond agriculture, aqueous ammonia feeds selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and SNCR DeNOx systems at power plants, cement kilns, and marine engines. Water-treatment operators use it for pH control and chloramine disinfection. Chemical blenders dilute it further for cleaning formulations and metal-pickling baths. Origins include Black Sea and MENA production hubs with ISO tank loading at chemical terminals; CFR/CIF parcels route to ports with liquid-chemical berth capacity.
Typical buyers: agrochemical distributors building liquid-N portfolios, utility procurement teams sourcing DeNOx reagent, and industrial compounders needing a stable ammoniacal nitrogen feedstock. Grade selection and concentration band are confirmed against the buyer's application profile and destination regulatory requirements before contract signing.

Loading ports & logistics
FOB loading at nominated chemical terminals on the Black Sea and in MENA — ISO tank stuffing at 20–26 MT net per unit, or parcel tanker lots from 500 MT for port-to-port delivery. Geared chemical tankers and stainless-lined ISO tanks are the standard vessel classes; road tanker delivery is available for regional buyers within 500 km of the load port.
CFR/CIF quotes include ocean freight to the buyer's discharge terminal with valid liquid-chemical handling licence. Typical lead time is 12–28 days after contract execution and payment confirmation, depending on tank availability and berth slot. MOQ starts at 500 MT; larger parcels up to 3,000 MT improve per-tonne freight economics on long-haul routes to India and Southeast Asia.
Packaging & documentation
Bulk shipment in ISO tank containers (T11/T14 rated), road tank trucks, or chemical parcel tankers. Drummed lots (200 L HDPE drums, 160 kg net) available for trial volumes on enquiry. Each lot ships with mill certificate of analysis (COA), safety data sheet (SDS), commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading set. Third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas) at load port can be arranged per contract terms.
FAQ
How does aqueous ammonia differ from anhydrous ammonia for import?
Aqueous ammonia is NH₃ dissolved in water at 19–30% concentration, shipped in non-pressurized ISO tanks or tank trucks. Anhydrous ammonia is 99.5%+ pure liquefied gas under pressure. Aqueous grades suit fertigation, water treatment, and DeNOx without cryogenic or high-pressure storage.
What concentration grades of aqueous ammonia are available for export?
Our standard export grade is 25% NH₃ minimum (~20.5% N). Industrial grades at 19% or 28–30% NH₃ can be quoted on request when the buyer's application or local regulations require a specific concentration band.
What storage and handling does aqueous ammonia require at discharge?
Store in lined steel or HDPE tanks away from acids, copper, and zinc alloys. Ventilate enclosed areas — ammonia vapour is corrosive above occupational exposure limits. Tanks should be cool and shaded; dilution with water is standard for emergency spill response per SDS.
