Product overview
NPK + micronutrient compounds address the hidden hunger problem in tropical and subtropical agriculture — soils that test adequate for N, P and K but chronically deficient in zinc, boron, sulphur and magnesium. Rather than relying on separate micronutrient applications that smallholders skip, these grades incorporate secondary and trace elements directly into the NPK granule during production, ensuring every kilogram applied delivers a balanced nutrient package.
Base NPK ratios range from balanced 15-15-15+ME and 12-12-17+S through crop-specific formulations such as 20-10-10+ZnB for cereals and 10-20-20+ME for root crops. Sulphur is typically supplied as ammonium sulphate or elemental S fractions; magnesium as kieserite or dolomitic carriers; zinc and boron as sulphate or borate salts homogenised at the granulation stage. Iron, manganese and copper can be added where regional soil surveys confirm deficiency.
Primary buyers include national fertilizer distributors in West Africa and South Asia running government subsidy programmes, agricultural cooperatives replacing on-farm blending with factory-enriched compounds, and export traders supplying micronutrient-deficient regions across the Sahel, Indo-Gangetic plain and South-East Asian uplands. Production origins span Black Sea NPK complexes, Central Asian granulation plants and MENA toll-blending facilities. HS code 3105.20.

Loading ports & logistics
Bulk NPK + micronutrient compounds ship in geared bulk carriers from 3,000 MT minimum up to 25,000 MT handymax parcels. FOB load ports include Novorossiysk, Baltic corridor terminals, Damietta and Jebel Ali transhipment hubs. Micronutrient-enriched grades require covered storage at load port to prevent caking from hygroscopic trace-element salts — we confirm berth shelter and loading sequence at contract stage.
CFR and CIF quotations add ocean freight and marine insurance. We nominate handysize to handymax tonnage aligned with discharge draft at Mombasa, Lagos, Chittagong, Ho Chi Minh City and other developing-market ports. Lead time is 10–20 days from payment instrument confirmation to first day of laycan; custom micronutrient formulations may add 2–4 weeks for production scheduling.
Bagged export in 50 kg PP bags with PE liner suits retail distribution where farmers purchase micronutrient-enriched NPK by the bag rather than tonne. Container lots from 24 MT serve landlocked destinations. Specify bag artwork and local-language micronutrient declaration labels at enquiry stage.
Packaging & documentation
Each lot ships with a mill certificate of analysis covering macronutrients, S, MgO and declared micronutrient fractions. On request we arrange SGS or equivalent pre-shipment inspection verifying Zn, B and trace-element content against contract specification. Standard document set: commercial invoice, packing list (bagged lots), bill of lading, certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate where required.
Payment terms: irrevocable LC at sight or CAD for first-time buyers; established accounts may negotiate open-account structures. Specify the exact micronutrient package and base NPK grade in your quote request — indicative pricing covers standard enrichment; custom formulations are quoted separately.
FAQ
Why choose NPK with built-in micronutrients instead of straight NPK plus foliar sprays?
Granular micronutrient enrichment delivers Zn, B, Fe and Mn at the root zone in the same application pass as macronutrients — critical where foliar spray infrastructure is absent and smallholder farmers apply fertilizer once per season. One granule also prevents uneven micronutrient distribution that occurs when straight NPK and micronutrient powder are blended on-farm without proper equipment.
Which micronutrient package suits sandy soils in West Africa and the Sahel?
Zinc and boron deficiencies dominate on alkaline sandy soils across the Sahel and coastal West Africa. A typical package adds 0.1–0.3% Zn and 0.02–0.05% B to a 15-15-15 or 12-12-17 base, plus 2–4% S from ammonium sulphate fractions. Request soil survey data at enquiry stage so we match the enrichment formula to local deficiency patterns.
Are chelated micronutrients available in water-soluble NPK + ME grades?
Yes. Fertigation and greenhouse buyers can specify EDTA- or DTPA-chelated Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu in water-soluble NPK micronutrient blends. Granular export grades use oxide or sulphate forms incorporated at the granulation stage — specify chelated forms only when the product is destined for dissolution tanks, not field broadcast.
