Product Overview

Urea-ammonium nitrate at 28% total nitrogen is the most widely traded farm-grade liquid nitrogen worldwide. Three nitrogen forms in one solution — 14% nitrate for immediate uptake, 7% ammonium for short-term soil retention, 7% urea for extended release — let agronomists match application timing to crop stage without switching products. At 1.27 g/cm³, UAN 28 stores in standard on-farm tanks and injects directly through centre-pivot, linear-move and drip fertigation systems.

We supply UAN 28 to distributors, cooperative buying groups and large-scale growers importing liquid nitrogen for maize sidedress, sorghum programmes, greenhouse vegetables and orchard fertigation across MENA, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Origins include Black Sea and CIS production with alternative supply routes on enquiry.

Loading Ports & Logistics

FOB loading from Black Sea terminals (Novorossiysk, Odessa region, Constanta) and MENA liquid-bulk jetties. Chemical tankers from 1,000 MT (coastal) to 5,000+ MT (deep-sea) with stainless or epoxy-coated cargo tanks. ISO tank parcels of 20–25 MT suit buyers without dedicated berth access. CFR/CIF quotes include ocean freight to nominated liquid terminal; we coordinate discharge slot and customs clearance documentation.

Store above −18°C to prevent salt crystallization in transit. Heated tank farms or insulated ISO tanks are standard for winter routes to temperate destinations. Typical lead time 15–30 days from contract signing to load port readiness.

Packaging & Documentation

Bulk liquid in dedicated chemical tankers or ISO tanks (20–25 MT per unit). Bagged concentrate in 1,000 kg IBC available for markets without liquid infrastructure. Each shipment includes mill certificate of analysis confirming nitrogen fractions and density, safety data sheet (SDS), commercial invoice, packing list and full bill of lading set. SGS or equivalent third-party inspection at load port on request.

FAQ

Why do growers choose UAN 28 over higher-analysis UAN grades?

UAN 28 has a lower salt index and crystallization risk than UAN 32, making it easier to store in unheated farm tanks through winter. For pivot and drip systems where dilution rates are flexible, the lower analysis per litre is offset by simpler handling and wider tank-mix compatibility.

What bulk packaging options are available for UAN 28 export?

Parcels from 1,000 MT move in dedicated stainless or coated carbon steel chemical tankers. Smaller lots ship in 20–25 MT ISO tanks. Bagged concentrate (typically 1,000 kg IBC) is available for destinations without liquid terminal infrastructure.

How long does UAN 28 remain plant-available after application?

Nitrate-N is available immediately; ammonium-N converts within days on warm soils; urea-N hydrolyses over 3–7 days depending on temperature and moisture. Combined, UAN 28 feeds crops for roughly 2–4 weeks — ideal for split sidedress on maize and single-pass fertigation in vegetables.
